Canadian Thanksgiving Thoughts...

What Am I Grateful For?

My Mother and Father and all of our kin…

The friends and the neighbors who care to drop in…

My Grampa and Nana and dear cousin Mutt..

The house at Mount Thom and Don’s blueberry hut…

At Crossroads, the sight of my Grandmother’s farm…

The dogs and the kitties, the sheep woolly warm…

The roads that lead home and to where I would go…

The lovely materials I love to sew…

My schools and my students and all of the staff…

Plus all of the wonders that cause me to laugh…

The stories of old told again and again…

The man that I married – the poor soul – and then…

Our children and grandkids and all of the rest,

Who simply arrived and remained in our nest…

The tenors, the basses, altos and sopranos…

And anyone else who sings ‘round my pianos…

And God bless the heart of dear Beatrice Hull…

Without her piano, life might have been dull.

The churches I play for and all who attend…

Good people, much loved and each one is a friend…

My beautiful house in the beautiful trees…

All blessings that cause me to fall on my knees…

My dear Nova Scotia, where I love to roam…

The pets and the people who welcome me home…

The strength to keep going as long as we’re able…

And all of the Honeys right here at this table…

For breath and for air, for rivers and streams…

For hopes and accomplishments, whimsies and dreams…

In gratitude all of our joys are unfurled…

And may they flow outward to cover the world.

Just for Fun!
