January Weather Woes

They say
This global warming thing
Makes Polar Bears disrobe.
Why, then, does it not affect
My portion of the globe?
If polar caps are melting,
That is not so very nice,
But neither is Atlanta
Under wads of snow and ice.
If scientists can forecast
A future years away,
I’m stumped that they can not forecast
The weather for today.
Yes, science has a lot to say
About what is suspected;
But, We’ve lived long enough
To just expect the unexpected.
No one bats a thousand in raw
Prognostication;
And Mother Nature has a way
Of causing indignation!
Let’s leave the wild predictions,
Intending no insults,
And, Lord, we ask for strength to cope
With all of the results.
