A Rotary Prayer
For
March 5, 2014
A
Tangled
Ball of elucidation
Is the institution of education.
To criticize it men cavort;
Reforming it’s a favorite sport.
Rotarians
Labour the planet around,
Schools for the needy to build or found.
Yet only here,
In this ragged ol’ world,
Do we open our schools
To
ALL
Boys and girls.
So bless the teachers who love their kids,
Who rescue them from the so-called “skids,”
By filling their minds with an aspiration
To take a chance on an education.
Tonight we will hear from one of our own
Her take
On where classrooms today
Have flown.
Despite the Cuomo’s and the Obama’s,
And even the thoughts of our dear old Mama’s,
Learning is surely alive and well;
And despite what you hear, has not gone to……..
Well!!
Bless us and keep us,
Dear Lord above;
And preserve forever
A teacher’s love.
Amen
