Our Kiva is a single pearl…
Precious!
Our Grand Daughter girl!
Uniquely formed by layers of nachre,
As life’s adventures strive to lacquer
Challenges too much to tell,
Within the confines of the shell.
And so,
Increases year by year
The gem in progress treasured here…
And each birthday we pause to note
Increasing lustrousness of coat:
Part artistry,
Part healing gifts,
Part joys of nature that she lifts…
To flourish, rescued from their gloom,
And,
In their time,
Burst into bloom.
