Rotary Prayer

Is 38 years
Since our club was born…
And the gavel we pass is growing worn…
But as the planet rolls ‘round again…
Give praise for another successful reign.
Yes, we all believe in service…
But, the slate of officers makes us nervous!
Most of us multiple terms have spent
From Secretary to President.
So, it’s tougher each year to find willing hands
To run the meetings and make the plans.
Hat’s off to the wonderful folks who cave,
Who serve once more our club to save.
We’re sad to see Russ go, but then…
Odds are he’ll likely come ‘round again.
Our Nina – of virtue, she’s quite the pillar –
And, we know that gavel will feel familiar!
So, what do the rest of us do, you ask…
Each of us bend to our chosen tasks.
Once more we served our community well,
And our Pantry shelves we helped to swell.
We raised some money….we spread it around,
Awarding grants all over town!
Three cheers to Russ for leadership
And smiling dedication…
Now, Nina’s here to take reins,
To give you a vacation.
Which brings us to another start…
A year all fresh and new,
With that marvelous potential
Of whatever we plan to do.
Thanks to both for generous hearts…
You help our club to hum!
For all that’s been accomplished…
And, for wonders yet to come!
So thank You, Lord, that in our club
Many deserve extolling
For willingness to step right up…
And keep our chapter rolling.
